Jack Johnson: SURFILMUSIC

  • San Benito House Cantina 356 Main Street Half Moon Bay, CA, 94019 United States (map)

Long before the platinum records, Jack Johnson was a kid with a 16mm camera pointed at his friends in the water. SURFILMUSIC follows that thread from the early surf films he made with a tight circle of friends to the music that grew out of them, and it makes a quiet case that the ocean was the through line all along.

Beach Break Entertainment is bringing the documentary to San Benito House for one night only while Jack is in the Bay Area for his Greek Theatre run. The evening includes special guests and a post-film Q&A, which means you get the film and the conversation that should follow it.

Why Sea Hugger is showing up

  • Jack Johnson has spent decades using his platform to fight plastic pollution and fund ocean education, which is the same work we do here on the Coastside!

  • The film is a reminder that ocean protection usually starts personally. Someone falls in love with a place first and defends it second. That’s what being a Sea Hugger is all about!

  • Beach Break Entertainment keeps making room for Coastside groups to be part of the conversation, and we are grateful for it every time.

  • We will be there in person! Come find us if you want to talk about what plastic-free actually looks like in Half Moon Bay, or if you just want to say hi.

Tickets are available through Beach Break Entertainment.
